Schools can now save big by using realistic VR simulators for forklifts, excavators, and tractors

The problem many schools teaching practical professions face is the lack of real hands-on experience. How can this be solved? One option is to provide actual training on devices or vehicles so students can learn to operate them. However, this approach is often costly and very time-consuming.

Students will, of course, gain the most from training on real vehicles – no question about it. But you already know where I’m going with this – you saw it in the headline. We have prepared a new VR simulator package that includes simulators for operating a forklift, an excavator, and a tractor.

Operating these vehicles in VR is the closest experience to handling them in real life. It’s the second-best option you can offer your students to help them understand these complex machines – the first being real-world training. But let’s be honest, that’s far too costly for regular lessons.

Our simulators work on both VR and flat-screen monitors. They all function with a PC-connected gearbox, though the forklift can also be operated using VR controllers. The other simulators in VR require the gearbox. To launch the app on a flat screen, at least two monitors are needed.

The simulators provide students with hands-on experience through practical tasks – lifting pallets, turning with loads, parking, and maneuvering in a busy warehouse – and that’s just with the forklift.

Instructors can also conduct exams directly within the app, using both a built-in question database and practical assessments.

While using the simulators, there’s zero risk for students – mistakes only cost virtual pallets. The costs are also much lower, as a single VR room can replace an entire training yard and multiple machines.
The application has already been implemented at the first Polish university, where it’s now used to train students in logistics and agricultural programs.

It supports almost all VR headsets – as long as they allow for PCVR connection.
